When do I need to bring my puppy/kitten in for vaccines?
Puppy/kitten vaccinations should ideally begin when they are 6-8 weeks old, and they need a vaccine booster every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. Puppies/kittens in high risk situations should have their vaccine boosters more frequently. Call us to discuss your puppy/kitten’s vaccination schedule today!
Do you have vaccine packages?

Why are dental cleanings so expensive?
Dental cleanings are actually a procedure that require anesthetic sedation/monitoring, and full mouth dental x-rays. Our technicians and doctors evaluate all of the patient’s teeth and remove/restore any damaged teeth, and clean beneath the gumline. This cannot be done safely/effectively without full anesthesia. Some places offer “non-anesthetic dental cleanings” that are much less expensive, where the patient is awake for the scraping of plaque from the surface of their teeth, and does not address beneath the gum line, nor any damaged teeth; however, this is NOT recommended as it is purely cosmetic and does nothing for your pet’s overall health.
Gum disease is extremely common in cats and dogs. According to the Merck Veterinary Manual, gum disease is caused by the accumulation of bacteria (plaque) at the gum line due, in part, to a lack of proper oral hygiene. Other contributing factors may include breed, genetics, age, and diet. As the number of bacteria below the gumline increases, bacterial waste products, such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, acids, and other compounds, accumulate and cause infection (inflammation); this infection often spreads deeper into the tooth socket, causing further damage to the supporting tissues of the animals tooth, and destroying the bone. There are 2 forms of gum disease: gingivitis and periodontitis, both can wreak havoc on your pets oral and overall health if left untreated. Can you call in my prescription?
We do not call prescriptions in, or approve prescription requests, to/from outside pharmacies. We can provide a written prescription for you to pick up and bring or mail to your desired pharmacy. Otherwise, you can request from our in-house pharmacy, or visit our online pharmacy to order directly from us and have your pets prescriptions shipped to your home. Our online pharmacy offers prices comparable to Chewy.

Why does my dog/cat need yearly lab work?
While yearly lab work is not required, it is strongly recommended. Lab work is important to do while your pet is healthy so there is a baseline to refer to when something is wrong; every pet’s baseline is different. Annual lab work is also key for early detection and treatment of diseases, allowing your pet to live the longest and healthiest life possible. See the attached preventative study to see how common heath findings are found with preventive lab work.

What is Librela?
Librela is an injectable medication that helps to manage pain associated with osteoarthritis in dogs. It’s a monoclonal antibody that works by blocking a protein called Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), which is involved in pain sensation and inflammation. Librela is administered as a monthly subcutaneous injection if recommended by your veterinarian.

What is Shockwave Therapy?
Shock wave therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that uses high-energy sound waves that bring healing factors to an area, stimulates circulation, and allows improved healing and reduces long-term pain. Shock wave therapy can be done with any patient suffering from pain caused from injury, such as CCL tear, patella luxation, osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, and more. This therapy is great for patients suffering with pain but cannot undergo surgery due to age or fiances.

What is Stem Cell Therapy?
As a baby develops in the womb, the cells that form the foundation of all other cells are known as stem cells. These cells are capable of transforming into any type of cell and serve as the core building blocks of the body. As we age, the availability of stem cells decreases, but they can still be harvested and reintroduced to treat a variety of health conditions.
Just like us, as pets age, they may experience pain due to osteoarthritis, cartilage degeneration, IVDD, ACL injuries, and more. Stem cell therapy can significantly help alleviate pain, speed up healing, and improve overall mobility—enhancing your pet’s quality of life. In some cases, stem cell therapy is so effective that it may reduce or even eliminate the need for ongoing pain medications. If your pet is prone to arthritis, joint issues, or ligament damage, you can ensure they receive advanced care when it is needed with our unique Stem Cell Banking Program.
Here’s how it works: When your pet undergoes a spay or neuter surgery in their adolescence, we collect tissue containing the dormant stem cells while they are under anesthesia. These stem cells are then stored for the duration of your pet’s life, ready to be used in the future for treatments like:
- Osteoarthritis
- CCL tears
- IVDD
- And more!
